background

The first six episodes were shown for the first time in November and December 1985 on ZDF. The ZDF broadcast episodes 7 to 12 two years later in October and November 1987 for the first time. After that, all episodes were broadcast at irregular intervals on ZDF and KI.KA (there, among other things, as part of the program TKKG - The Detective Club ). The film was shot in Hamburg , including in Hagenbeck's zoo , and in various locations in the Stormarn district ( Schleswig-Holstein ). The toy vehicles therefore have the number plate of the Stormarn district: OD. The episode The contortionist was filmed on and in the Tremsbüttel manor .

content

The sequence of the individual episodes of the series is based on Stefan Wolf's books for young people, apart from some cuts. Again and again the four youngsters come across mysterious cases that they masterfully solve or uncover. The four attend a boarding school, where Tim and Klößchen also live there during the week, while Gaby and Karl are external. Sometimes there are events at your school, such as B. the terror of class 9 a against their teacher Müller-Borello, which forces TKKG to intervene. They clash with the Mafioso Borello, the ex-husband of the teacher, and with the rocker "King" Seibold. It is he who is responsible for an attack on a businessman in episode 7. Inspector Glockner, also the father of gang member Gaby, can always count on the help of the young detectives. Most of the time, gang leader Tim is responsible for the procedure in the various cases. He is mainly supported by the highly intelligent Karl. At the end of each episode, as a running gag so to speak, Dumpling always claims the success of an action for itself.

Oskar the dog is a constant companion of the TKKG clique.
