Uwe Hacker

Uwe Hacker (born March 1, 1941 in Hamburg ; † November 18, 1995 there ) was a German actor .

Life

The trained import and export salesman in the shipping sector was self-taught and began his artistic career without any corresponding training at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. In his hometown he then played on other well-known theaters such as the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater , the Kammerspiele and the Thalia Theater . In 1994 he appeared as a fat cousin at the Jedermann Festival in the Berlin Cathedral .

From the mid-1970s onwards, Hacker increasingly took on smaller supporting roles in television series and feature films. Due to its gigantic shape (approx. 2.08 meters tall and weighing approx. 170 kg), he was often cast for the roles of extraordinary people. Hacker gained fame throughout Germany through his appearances in films such as " Didi - Der Experte " (1988), " Otto - Der Ausserfriesische " (1989) and through his supporting role as a brutal hustler in the action film " Der Joker " (1987, with Peter Maffay) ). At the beginning of the 1990s, Hacker was often seen in the crime series " Großstadtrevier ". After he withdrew from the film business due to health problems, he was a permanent member of the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg, Schleswig-Holstein, until his death in 1995 .

He died after suffering from cancer for a long time . Uwe Hacker found his final resting place in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg.
