Else Quecke (born September 5, 1907 in Duisburg , † June 19, 2004 in Bad Wiessee ) was a German actress .

Life

Quecke attended the Dumont drama school in Düsseldorf and received her first engagement in Osnabrück in 1930 . From 1932 to at least 1938 she was part of the ensemble of the Augsburg City Theater . This was followed by an engagement at the Hamburger Kammerspiele . From 1950 to 1976 she worked at the Münchner Kammerspiele .

In addition, she played in numerous German television films , including some episodes of the crime series Tatort . She achieved international fame with her portrayal of Golda Meir in the American production Die 21 Stunden von München about the hostage drama during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.

The Nazi resistance fighter Hans Quecke was her brother.
