Christian and Christiane is a 14-part television series about young lovers from 1982, which ARD produced and broadcast.

The focus of the approximately 25-minute episodes is on the young lovers Christiane ( Marion Kracht ) and Christian ( Jochen Schroeder ) and their surroundings. The couple has to endure various stress tests in their relationship. Christian does his military service and is therefore rarely at home, Christiane is training to be a druggist. The couple spends the weekends at Christiane's parents' house. Of course, difficulties and conflicts are inevitable. Little by little, Christian's parents ( Marie-Luise Marjan and Hubert Suschka ) and Christiane's parents ( Ursula Heyer and Rudolf Brand ) also come to terms with the relationship between the two. In episode 6, the two get married.

For Marion Kracht and Jochen Schroeder in the title roles, the series was the start of a great career.

Episodes

1. Finally the weekend
Christian and Christiane are young lovers. Christian is 20 and Christiane 18. She is still training to be a pharmacist, he is currently doing his military service. The two spend their weekends at Christiane's home. That gives trouble with the parents. In order to have a few more hours of weekend vacation, Christian decides to buy a used car.

2. The new car
Instead of a used car, Christian's father gets his son a new car. He pays him the additional costs. Christian is burdened with considerable debts. Christiane's father no longer wants to let the young people spend their weekend under his roof. Unless the two get engaged. Christiane doesn't want to know anything about that yet. During a test drive with the new car, Herbert had an accident who had encouraged Christian to race on his motorcycle.

3. Weekend exercise
When Christian has to do a weekend exercise, Christiane visits her brother Stefan, who lives in a shared apartment in Munich. There she gets to know a different way of living together. However, these alternative forms of life cannot convince them. In the meantime, Christian asks a friend about the money he would get if he and Christiane got married.

4. A holiday
A holiday on which Christian cannot come home. Christiane visits Herbert in the hospital. Her mother arranged for the couple's parents to get to know each other and talk about their children's relationship. Christiane's mother is against an early marriage from her own experience. Christian's grandmother falls down the stairs and Christiane waits for Christian's call to tell him the news. But he has fun with his comrades.

5. Decision
Finally Christian and Christiane see each other again. But there is an argument because Christian keeps talking about the money he would get if he got married. Christiane is hurt by this and Christian goes to his home. There both sit and are sad. In order not to meet Christian, Christiane visits her grandma in the hospital extra early. But suddenly both are facing each other.

6. Last hurdles
Christian and Christiane prepare their wedding. It should now go quickly so that you can soon enjoy the additional Bundeswehr money. The priest happened to visit Christiane's family. The mother mistakenly thinks he has come to ask about the church wedding. She is ashamed and urges her daughter to get married in church. When Christian comes from the Bund in the evening, Christiane is trying on a wedding dress.

7. The most beautiful day
The time has come: your wedding day. In the morning, Christiane's brother and the young people from the shared apartment are the first guests. There are tears when Christiane's mother makes it very clear that she is still against this early marriage. Christian's mother and his father's new wife meet in front of the church. The wedding celebration is not the celebration that Christian and Christiane had in mind.

8. On your own two feet
A few months have passed. Christian and Christiane are now a married couple. Christian then receives an offer from the German Armed Forces to work as a photo laboratory technician in his learned profession. However, the new location is further away from home. Christiane struggles with a disgusting driving instructor: She gets out of the car out of sheer anger in the middle of the driving lesson. Then she meets Maria again, whom she met at her wedding. Maria's brother Stefan is also there over tea. He recommends her to continue with his driving school.

9. Everyday marriage

10. Under one roof
Christian's sister Sonja and her clique steal a department store and are caught. Fearing her mother, she fled to Christian and Christiane. She asks the two of them to be allowed to stay with them for the night. Christiane's mother appears to get her daughter. When she tries to break into the young couple's apartment, a scandal ensues. Christian and Christiane decide to move out to avoid the constant tutelage.

Looking for an apartment Christiane is now looking for an apartment. Her friend Beate gives her the tip to try her uncle, who has expanded the roof of his house. Since the apartment is nice and the rent is reasonable, they come to an agreement. The next day Christiane passes the driving test, Stefan doesn't. At a small celebration, the young people decide to spend the coming Christmas days with four people at Stefan's parents' hut. When Christiane wants to show her husband the new apartment, Beates uncle backs down.

12. Christmas with a difference
The Christmas vacation at the hut is supposed to be Christian and Christiane's belated honeymoon. But from the beginning there is tension between the four young people. This is not how the honeymooners had imagined it: No bedroom of their own, Stefan flirts with Christiane, Beate unsuccessfully with Stefan, and Christian is jealous. After the mess comes the mess. Beate runs into the darkness. While looking for her, Stefan sprains his leg and Christiane falls into his arms.

13. Good prospects
Christiane went to Munich to see her brother in order to think about her marriage in peace and to get advice. Christian sits alone with his in-laws on Boxing Day. But everything is back to normal, and Christiane's grandma has even found an apartment for the young couple. It has also now been decided that Christian will train as a photographer after his military service. A confident, energetic couple signs the lease.

14. A beginning
Christiane is studying for her druggist exam and her friends are helping to renovate her new apartment. Christian celebrates his last hours in the Bundeswehr. The next day, Christiane passes her exam. But life goes on - or it is only just beginning. Christian, still hungover, introduces himself to his new teacher. He gets the job. Together with friends, they celebrate moving into their first apartment. And Christian has another surprise for Christiane.
