Lajb Fuks

Lajb Fuks (born 1908 in Poland; died 1990 ) was a Polish-Dutch Judaist, Jewish scholar and librarian.

Life

Fuks immigrated to Holland in 1934, was initially employed as an assistant librarian at the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana at the University of Amsterdam from 1946 and was a librarian there from 1949 until his retirement in 1973. From 1964 he was a lecturer in Ivrit and Yiddish as well as ancient Yiddish literary and language history at the University of Amsterdam.
