The Pearl - From the diary of household worker is a television series of the ARD . A waitress takes up the job of maid. With curiosity and vigor, she brings order to many households and also solves a few crimes. Eleven episodes produced were broadcast in four blocks in the evening program.

Emilie Knusefranz ( Ruth Drexel ) is disappointed and quits her job as a waitress in "Kiermaier's Sportkaffee" and decides to earn her living as a housemaid in the future. During the eleven episodes she moved from position to position, upset many a household and, thanks to her instinct, is repeatedly drawn into criminal cases.
