Rafael Avalos (born November 30, 1926 , † April 14, 1993 ) is a retired Mexican soccer player who played in midfield .

biography

From the little-known dates of his career, all that is known is that Avalos was under contract with CF Atlante between 1950 and 1954 , with whom he won the Mexican Cup competition twice (1951 and 1952) and the Supercup once (1952) .

Avalos made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team in a World Cup qualifier against Haiti on July 19, 1953 , which was won 8-0. Avalos was also in the second leg in Haiti (4-0) on December 27, 1953 and scored his only international goal in that game.

In January 1954 he played the two decisive World Cup qualifiers against the USA (4-0 and 3-1) and both World Cup games for the Mexicans , which were lost to Brazil (0-5) and France (2-3). The game against the French on June 19, 1954 was also his last international match.
