Martin Ťapák

Martin Ťapák (born October 13, 1926 in Liesek ; † February 1, 2015 in Bratislava ) was a Slovak director , actor , screenwriter and choreographer .

From 1946 Ťapák attended the Bratislava Conservatory and from 1956 studied choreography at the University of Music in Bratislava . From 1945 to 1950 he was an actor and director at the Slovak National Theater, until 1960 its deputy director. He also worked as a director and choreographer with the Slovenský ľudový umelecký kolektív . From 1959 to 1961 he directed the Laterna magika in Prague (Ballet Laterna magika II ).

In the 1960s he became known as a director with television productions such as Dobrého Vám večera (1962) and Roztrhla sa hudáčkovi struna (1967). In 1969 he was honored as an Honored Artist, in 1974 he received the Slovak National Prize for the film Deň, ktorý neumrie . For Kohút nezaspieva he was awarded the Antonin Zopotocky Prize , and in 2002 he received the Cross of the President of the Slovak Republic Second Class.
