Achim Brankačk
Achim Brankačk (German Achim Brankatschk ; born August 21, 1926 in Merka ; † February 18, 2013 in Kamenz ) was a Sorbian teacher , choirmaster and author .
After studying history and English in Wrocław , Poland , he taught at the Sorbian Extended High School (later the Sorbian High School ) in Bautzen . There he was head of the 1st Sorbian Culture Brigade for many years . He also directed the Radibor choir "Meja" for 47 years.
After the political change he was the author, translator and editor of several books, among others on the Sorbian concert organist Lubina Holanec-Rawpowa and the composer Bjarnat Krawc as well as several Sorbian hymn books.
Brankačk died at the age of 86 in a Kamenz hospital.
