Ibaragi Noriko

Ibaragi Noriko ( Japanese 茨 木 の り 子 ; actually Miura Noriko , ( 三浦 の り 子 ); born June 12, 1926 in Ōsaka ; † February 19, 2006 ) was a Japanese writer.

Ibaragi attended high school in Aichi. Her most famous poem Watashi ga ichiban kirei datta toki (When I was most beautiful), which has been translated into many languages, was written when she was nineteen. In 1953 she was one of the founders of the magazine Kai (Ruder). In addition to several volumes of poetry, she wrote essays, stories, fairy tales and scripts.
