During this time he was a seminarian in the so-called barbed wire seminary of Chartres which 1,945 to 1,947 of Abbé Franz Stock as rain was headed. Stations of the Cross, painted by Zenetti , are still well preserved in the seminar building that now houses the European meeting place . On July 1, 1946, he was released home.

Back in Frankfurt he did his Abitur in a homecoming course and enrolled at St. Georgen University for Catholic Philosophy and Theology . In 1952 he completed his studies and was ordained a priest on September 28, 1952 by Diocesan Bishop Wilhelm Kempf in Limburg an der Lahn . As an author, Zenetti was involved in the ecumenical beat fair in 1972 Love is not just a word with Wilhelm Willms , Eckart Bücken and Peter Janssens . His songs can be found in all Catholic hymn books in German-speaking countries ; but also the Evangelical Hymnbook and the Hymnbook of the Evangelical Methodist Church have taken over some texts from him. His translation of Ik sta voor u as I stand before you with empty hands, Lord is not only to be found in praise of God .

Together with trombonist Albert Mangelsdorff , he traveled to the USA and from there brought the idea of livelier, more informal church services with him, which should be made up of jazz or beat music . In this context he wrote “an important book about jazz and church” ( Wolfram Knauer ).

Quotes

“People who live by hope see further.
People who live by love see deeper.
People who live by faith
see everything in a different light. "

- Lothar Zenetti

"When you pray,
then go into your room,
your Dunkelkämmerlein ,
and develop the image
that God has made you."

- Lothar Zenetti

"You shoud risk what nobody else does.
What no one says that says out.
What no one thinks that dares to think.
What nobody starts, carries out.

If nobody says yes, you should say so.
If nobody says no, say no.
If any doubt, dares to believe.
If everyone participates, stand alone.

Where everyone praises, they have concerns.
Where everyone scoffs, don't scoff.
Where all stingy, dares to give.
Where everything is dark, there is light. "

- Lothar Zenetti
