Frankfurt biography

The Frankfurt biography. Personal History Lexicon (FB) is a biographical reference work for people associated with the city of Frankfurt am Main . The local biography was published by the Frankfurt city archivist Wolfgang Klötzer on behalf of the Frankfurt Historical Commission . It was published in two volumes in 1994 and 1996 by Waldemar Kramer .

The articles were mainly edited by Wolfgang Klötzer, Reinhard Frost and Sabine Hock. The second volume contains a “list of authors” as well as a list of sources and most important reference works. The volumes contain a total of 2,275 biographies on 2,506 people who have already died and whose lives were connected with Frankfurt. Around 70% of the people shown were born after 1800 (see Volume 2, p. 595).

Since 2014, the project has been continued as an online dictionary on behalf of the Frankfurter Bürgerstiftung under the name Frankfurter Personenlexikon (FP) . The editor-in-chief is Sabine Hock . An article delivery of the Frankfurter Personenlexikons is published online every month .
