Sabine Hock

Sabine Hock (* 1965 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German author , journalist and editor .

Life

Hock attended the Schiller School in Frankfurt am Main and passed his Abitur in 1984 . In the same year she began studying German , Middle and Modern History and English at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , which she completed in 1989 with a master's degree from Ernst Erich Metzner . The topic of the master's thesis was The Importance of Hesse and Hesse in German Studies until 1848. During her studies, she completed various internships at the Frankfurt City Archives , the German Broadcasting Archive and the Frankfurter Neue Presse . Since 1985 she has also worked as a freelance author and journalist as well as editor for the Waldemar Kramer publishing house in Frankfurt am Main and the Michaela Naumann publishing house in Nidderau, among others . From 1990 to 2009 she worked in the dramaturgy at the Volkstheater Frankfurt , from 1998 to 1999 as an assistant director and as the author of the programs for the productions.

Since 1986 Hock has been working as editor, later as editor-in-chief , for the Frankfurter Biographie , a biographical lexicon of people associated with the city of Frankfurt am Main. Since 2014, she has been developing the online edition of the Frankfurter Personenlexikon on behalf of the Frankfurter Bürgerstiftung in cooperation with the Frankfurt Historical Commission .

Sabine Hock is the author and editor of numerous publications, especially on the topic of Frankfurt and Hessian history, and co-author of the New German Biography . She is married to the engineer Wolfgang Faust, they have a daughter.
