The apartment house Ljuteranska Wulyzja 6 ( Ukrainian Доходный дом на ул. Лютеранская 6 ) or Borgia Palace ( Дворец Борджиа ) is a building erected in 1905 in the Ukrainian capital Kiev .

The building is an architectural monument since 2010 and got his nickname because of his supplemented in the Art Nouveau style of Renaissance and Baroque facade topics which the people of palaces of Borgia - noble family remembers.

history

The building, constructed in 1905 by the German-born architect Martin Wilhelm Klug , is one of the best examples of eclecticism in Ukraine. Maxim Gorky lived in the neighboring house number 8 , which has now been demolished , which is why a memorial plaque can now be found here. For the Ukrainian sculptor Olexander Kowalow ( Ковальов Олександр Олександрович 1915–1991), a former resident of the house, there is also a plaque on the house facade.

location

The building is located in the Pechersk district on Lutheran Street ( Ljuteranska wulyzja ) number 6 in downtown Kiev near Khreshchatyk , the capital boulevard of Kiev.
