The fire tiger ( Bingyin , Chinese  丙寅 , Pinyin bǐngyín ) is the 3rd year of the Chinese calendar (see table 天 支 60-year cycle). It is a term from the field of Chinese astrology and describes those lunar years that are linked by the connection of the third heavenly stem ( , bǐng , element fire and Yáng ) with the third earth branch ( , yín ), symbolized by the tiger ( , ), are characterized.
