The metal tiger ( Genyin ( Chinese  庚寅 , Pinyin gēngyín )) is the 27th year of the Chinese calendar (see table 天 支 60-year cycle). It is a term from the field of Chinese astrology and describes those lunar years that are linked by a connection between the seventh heavenly stem ( , gēng , element metal and Yáng ) with the third earth branch ( , yín ), symbolized by the tiger ( , ), are characterized.
