The earth buffalo ( Jichou , Chinese  己丑 , Pinyin jǐchǒu ) is the 26th year of the Chinese calendar (see table 天 支 60-year cycle). It is a term from the field of Chinese astrology and describes those lunar years that are linked by a connection between the sixth heavenly stem ( , , element earth and Yīn ) and the second earth branch ( , chǒu ), symbolized by the buffalo ( , niú ), are characterized.
