Alexander train and empire
- January to August: Siege of Tire : The army of Alexander the Great besieges Tire and takes the city after half a year, the residents are killed (2000 residents are crucified ) or sold into slavery. The other Phoenician cities surrender largely without a fight.
- An offer of peace by the Persian King Dareios III. , in which Alexander he offers rule west of the Euphrates , rejects this.
- Alexander the Great conquers Gaza after three months of siege . The rest of Palestine comes under Macedonian rule.
- Alexander the Great captured Egypt without a fight
- The local rulers of Cyprus , previously subject to the Persians, defected to Alexander the Great.
