Eastern Mediterranean
- Thrace campaign of the Macedonian king Philip II. The Thracian king Kersebleptes is subjugated, Macedonian rule is extended to the Balkan Mountains and the city of Philippopolis (Plovdiv) is established.
- The Macedonians under Antipater and Parmenion devastate the Sporades and land on Euboea , where they lay garrisons in Oreos and Eretria after Athens tried to drive out Promakedon rulers. Demosthenes denounces this as a violation of the peace of Philocrates .
- The Persians under Artaxerxes III. end the conquest of Egypt , which began the previous year and which will again become a Persian province. Nectanebo II , the last native pharaoh in ancient Egypt , flees to Nubia .
Western Mediterranean
- The Romans appoint Marcus Valerius Corvus as dictator in the First Samnite War .
- Victory of the Romans over the Samnites at Saticula (east of Capua ) and on Mount Gaurus (near Cumae ).
