  • Macedonia conquers the Thracian coastal city of Abdera .
  • After a lost battle in the previous year, the Macedonians under Philip II return to Thessaly and attack the Phocians . In the battle on the crocus field , Philip II defeats the Phocians in the Third Holy War .
  • Philip II is elected Archon (and thus leader) by the Thessalian League . This makes him the unrestricted master of the region. From now on Philip can also rule over the army of his southern neighbors. In Piraeus , Athens' mighty fleet is at the service of the Macedonians.
