- Under pressure from the Persian Achaemenid Empire , the second Attic League has to be dissolved. This ends the alliance war , which began in 357 BC. Began with the detachment of several federal members.
- Philip II of Macedonia besieged the city of Methone . He loses an eye because of an arrow. In Thrace , Philipp renames the city of Krenides to Philippi . He later conquered the port cities of Abdera and Maroneia (which belong to Athens ).
