Admetos (General)
Admetos ( Greek Ἄδμητος ; † 332 BC in Tire ) was a Macedonian officer of Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC.
During the siege of Tire in 332 BC. Chr. Admetos commanded those trireme that the decisive attack the royal guard (AGEMA) the label support ( hypaspistai ) up to the ramparts of Tire transported. Apparently, therefore, he was also the leader of this troop, which he had probably been since 334 BC. Had led. Alexander was also personally present on his ship, under whose eyes Admetus led the royal guards to the assault. He was the first Macedonian to overcome the city wall, but was killed on the other side immediately.
