甲午

The wooden horse ( Jiawu , Chinese  甲午 , Pinyin jiǎwǔ ) is the 31st year of the Chinese calendar (see table 天 支 60-year cycle). It is a term from the field of Chinese astrology and describes those lunar years that are linked by a connection between the first celestial stem ( , jiǎ , element wood and yáng ) with the seventh earth branch ( , ), symbolized by the horse ( , ), are characterized.

According to the Chinese calendar , such a connection occurs every 60 years. On 31 January 2014 the last wooden horse-year began, it took account of the deviation of the Chinese from the Gregorian calendar year until the 18th February 2015 .
