The Réserve écologique Judith-De Brésoles is a 1089.51 hectare protected area established in 1992 in the south of the Canadian province of Québec in the Agglomération de La Tuque .

It is located around 60 km northeast of La Tuque on the eastern edge of Lac-Édouard and belongs to the village of the same name. It serves to protect one of the northernmost yellow birch forests .

The Judith-De Brésoles protected area mainly represents the flora and fauna typical of the lower Laurentides in the Saguenay River area . It is located in the area of ​​the Precambrian river basin and accordingly has Tillit , in addition to which there are glacial and post-glacial deposits of the Kame and Esker types . These deposits mainly consist of sand and gravel. Then developed Podsol even bleach or gray earth called.

Characteristic are aspen , paper birch , balsam fir , black spruce . One of the northernmost occurrences of the yellow birch can be found in the west of the reserve .

The reserve was named after Judith Moreau De Brésoles (1620-1687), the founder and first superior of the Religieuses hospitalières de l'Hôtel-Dieu de Ville-Marie (the name at the time for what is now Montréal ).
