The metal dragon ( Gengchen ( Chinese  庚辰 , Pinyin gēngchén )) is the 17th year of the Chinese calendar (see table 天 支 60-year cycle). It is a term from the field of Chinese astrology and describes those lunar years that are linked by a connection between the seventh heavenly stem ( , gēng , element metal and Yáng ) and the fifth earth branch ( , chén ), symbolized by the dragon ( , lóng ), are characterized.
