The metal rat ( Gengzi ( Chinese  庚子 , Pinyin gēngzǐ )) is the 37th year of the Chinese calendar (see table 天 支 60-year cycle). It is a term from the field of Chinese astrology and describes those lunar years that are linked by a connection between the seventh heavenly stem ( , gēng , element metal and Yáng ) with the first earth branch ( , ), symbolized by the rat ( , shǔ ), are characterized.
