  • June 1st - Lucius Sulla ends his campaign of revenge and closes the death lists. 4,700 Roman citizens, including at least 40 senators, fell victim to the proscriptions (the total number of all those murdered on Sulla's behalf or with his tolerance is probably several higher). Sulla can now organize the republic according to his - conservative - ideas: The Senate will once again become the power center of the state.
