The metal rooster ( Xinyou ( Chinese  辛酉 , Pinyin xīnyǒu )) is the 58th year of the Chinese calendar (see table 天 支 60-year cycle). It is a term from the field of Chinese astrology and describes those lunar years that are linked by a connection between the eighth heavenly stem ( , xīn , element metal and Yīn ) and the tenth earth branch ( , yǒu ), symbolized by the rooster ( , ), are characterized.
