The construction of the Temple of Venus and Roma , the largest temple in Rome with a floor area of 140 by 100 meters , begins. The construction work requires the demolition of the entrance hall of the Domus Aurea built by Nero . The foundations of this building are partially reused. Overall, the architecture of the temple is more based on the Greek than the Roman building rules. It also does not have a high podium, which is mandatory for Roman temples.
