- Seattle / United States : Amazon reiterates allegations that their drivers have to urinate in bottles and admits that this could happen because of a lack of time and toilets. Amazon had previously denied the allegations.
- Vatican City : Pope Francis starts a second Easter during the COVID-19 pandemic with Good Friday Mass . Around 200 participants are present at the mass in St.
- Washington, DC / United States : In front of the US Capitol, a man runs over two police officers in a car and then rams a police cordon. One of the policemen is killed, the other is injured. After the driver armed with a knife got out of the car and did not listen to warnings, he was shot by a police officer. The US Capitol will be cordoned off after the incident.
- Xiulin / Taiwan : An express train that collided with an inadequately secured construction site vehicle derailed when entering a tunnel . According to initial information, 50 people die and 118 are injured.
Saturday 3rd April 2021
- Amman / Jordan : After an alleged plot against King Abdullah II , 20 people are arrested and his half-brother Prince Hamzah is placed under house arrest.
- Cairo / Egypt : In a solemn procession, accompanied by costumed performers, 22 mummies of former pharaohs are transported through Cairo to the newly inaugurated National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC).
- Mogadishu / Somalia : Ten people are killed in a suicide attack caused by a car bomb in the Somali capital. At least nine soldiers are killed and eleven injured in several terrorist attacks involving car bomb explosions and mortar shelling by Islamists of the Shabaab militia on various Somali armed forces bases in the Shabeellaha Hoose region in southern Somalia . 76 terrorists are killed in the attacks.

- Jakarta / Indonesia and Dili / East Timor : On Sunday night, heavy rains lead to severe flooding in Indonesia and East Timor. As a result, there are at least 86 deaths in Indonesia, 27 deaths in East Timor and thousands of people become homeless.
- Kabul / Afghanistan : A car bomb explodes in the Afghan capital, killing three security guards and injuring twelve more. The Taliban are committed to the attack.
- Pristina / Kosovo : Parliament elects Vjosa Osmani as the new President. Opposition parties and the Serbian minority boycott the vote.
- Sofia / Bulgaria : In the parliamentary elections , the conservative party of Prime Minister Boyko Borissow emerged as the strongest force, but missed an absolute majority.

- Al-Junaina / Sudan : After three days of armed clashes between members of the Rizeigat and Masalit ethnic groups in West Darfur , at least 40 people are killed and 60 injured.
- Hanoi / Vietnam : The members of the National Assembly elect Nguyễn Xuân Phúc as the new President and Phạm Minh Chính as the new Prime Minister.
- Moscow / Russia : President Vladimir Putin signs a law that sets the number of his previous terms of office to zero. This would theoretically allow him to continue to govern until 2036.
- Owerri / Nigeria : In an attack with explosives and firearms on a prison in Owerri, the capital of the state of Imo , 1844 prisoners are freed. Local police blame the separatist Indigenous People of Biafra movement for the attack.
- Seoul / South Korea : The South Korean electronics manufacturer LG Electronics announces the end of its production of smartphones after billions in losses. A new strategy focuses on the manufacture of parts for electric vehicles and robotics.
- Washington, DC / United States : Janet Yellen , Treasury Secretary of the United States, advocates minimum corporate taxation worldwide in a speech she gives to the Chicago Council on Global Affairs in the run-up to the International Monetary Fund's spring conference.

- The Hague / Netherlands : After the incumbent Prime Minister Mark Rutte had difficulties in getting a new government majority, Herman Tjeenk Willink was hired as an informant after consultation with the 17 parliamentary group leaders in order to sound out majorities for the formation of a government.
- Little Rock , United States : Arkansas Chamber of Deputies and Senate vote for a law banning transsexual adolescents' sex reassignment with hormones or puberty blockers, overriding Governor Asa Hutchinson's veto .
- Nuuk / Greenland : The Inuit Ataqatigiit under Múte B. Egede wins the parliamentary elections for the first time since 2009 .
- Pyongyang / North Korea : Due to the health risks of its athletes due to the corona pandemic, the Ministry of Sports announces the cancellation of North Korea's participation in this year's Olympic Games in Tokyo .

- Belfast / United Kingdom : During clashes between violent youths and police forces, rioters set a bus on fire and attack a journalist.
- Kiev / Ukraine : In Ukraine, certain cannabis products are legalized for medical use.
- Salamiyya / Syria : Dozens of people are captured in an attack by Islamic State terrorists on the police station in the city of al-Saan in the Salamiyya district in central Syria, including eight soldiers. One person is killed in the attack. This attack represents the most violent attack by the Islamic State in Syria in the past three years.
- Zurich / Switzerland : The World Football Association is suspending the participation of Chadian football teams in international tournaments due to government interference .

- Cairo / Egypt : An Egyptian court sentenced the former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood , Mahmoud Ezzat, to life imprisonment for terrorism.

- Porto Novo / Benin : During a violent demolition of a demonstration against incumbent President Patrice Talon in the run-up to the presidential elections, one person was shot dead and six injured in Savé in the Collines department .

Environmentalists, fishermen and farmers are protesting against this decision.

- Mogadishu / Somalia : When a minibus hits a land mine in the outskirts of the Somali capital Mogadishu, 15 inmates are killed.
- Van Horn / United States : The space tourism rocket New Shepard successfully completes its 15th and last unmanned test flight.
- Washington, DC / United States : US President Joe Biden announces that the withdrawal of US soldiers from Afghanistan should be completed by September 11, the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, DC .

- Karlsruhe / Germany: The Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe has declared the Berlin rent cap to be unconstitutional; Legislative power in this regard lies exclusively with the federal government, due to the rental price limit that was decided there - as early as 2015 .

- Mars : NASA succeeds in the first flight of an aircraft on another celestial body with the Ingenuity helicopter drone .
- N'Djamena / Chad : Chadian armed forces put down a rebel uprising in the northwest of the country in the regions of Tibesti and Kanem . The rebels invaded Chad from Libya . In the military action, 300 are killed by rebels, 150 more are arrested, and 36 soldiers are killed.

- United States : The United States Census Bureau announced that as of April 1, 2020, there were 331,449,281 people in the United States. Compared to the United States Census 2010 , the population of the United States has grown by 22,703,743 people, an increase of 7.4%. After the United States Census 2020 and the resulting reallocation of seats in the United States House of Representatives , Texas will get two additional seats and will have 38 mandates there in the future. In addition, Colorado (8 in the future), Florida (28), Montana (2), North Carolina (14) and Oregon (6) will each have an additional constituency. The following seven states will lose a constituency after the midterm elections in 2022: Illinois (future 17), California (52), Michigan (13), New York (26), Pennsylvania (17) and West Virginia (2). For the first time in history, California loses a constituency after a census.
