  • Paris / France : Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy is sentenced to three years in prison for bribery and illicit influence. Two years of this will be suspended.   • Ma'rib / Yemen : At least 120 people are killed in the fighting for the city of Ma'rib. Ma'rib is the last major city in northern Yemen that is controlled by the internationally recognized government.   • Oberstdorf / Germany : The German ski jumpers Pius Paschke , Severin Freund , Markus Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger win the world championship in team jumping at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2021 .

  • La Paz / Bolivia : Former interim president Jeanine Áñez is arrested in Bolivia on charges of terrorism and rioting. Investigations are underway against her because of an alleged coup against her predecessor Evo Morales .

  • Aden / Yemen : Angry demonstrators storm the presidential palace in Aden, where the country's internationally recognized government is based. Several cabinet members and Prime Minister Maeen Abdul Malek are evacuated to a nearby military building by Yemeni and Saudi security forces.
