Véronique Reymond

Véronique Reymond (born March 31, 1971 in Lausanne , Switzerland ) is a Swiss actress , screenwriter and film director . She works exclusively with Stéphanie Chuat in both theater and film .

Live and act

Véronique Reymond studied at the Conservatory in Lausanne and at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri (Ticino).

With Stéphanie Chuat , whom she has known since she was eleven, she founded a theater for children and young people , the Switch company. Together they have worked in numerous Swiss and French theater productions. Her first step towards film was incorporating video into her plays. In 1999 they began to write and direct short films .

One of these films, Berlin Backstage , was shot in the Berlin Philharmonie and was nominated for the Berlin Today Award at the Talent Campus of the Berlin International Film Festival in 2004. This was followed in 2005 by the documentary Gymnase du soir, petites histoires, grandes études and in 2009 by Buffo, Buten & Howard , a portrait of the American writer and clown Howard Buten .

In 2010, the duo made their first feature film, The Little Room ( La Petite Chambre) , starring Michel Bouquet and Florence Loiret Caille . The film was selected for the Locarno International Film Festival in 2010 and represented Switzerland at the Oscars for foreign film. In 2011 La Petite Chambre received the Swiss Film Award for Best Film and Best Screenplay. In 2014, Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond realized À livre ouvert , a TV series on RTS 1 for Swiss television , for which they also wrote the script. Les Dames followed in 2018 .

Her second feature film Little Sister, starring Nina Hoss and Lars Eidinger, competed for the Golden Bear in the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival .
