  • Tchioma Bangou and Zaroumbey Darey / Niger : At least 70 civilians are killed and 20 others injured in a simultaneous Islamist terrorist attack on two neighboring villages in the west of the country, near the border with Mali . The attack occurs a few days after the parliamentary elections and the first round of the presidential election . It was possibly in retaliation for the earlier murder of two fighters by a self-defense group set up by the villagers.

  • Baghdad / Iraq : At least 28 people are killed and 73 others are injured in a terrorist attack in which two suicide bombers blew themselves up in a busy market after a chase. This is the first terrorist attack in the Iraqi capital since June 2019 (see list of explosive attacks ).

  • Frankfurt am Main / Germany : A message from Federal and the General Prosecutor Frankfurt According to German investigators have the infrastructure of the current world's most dangerous malware Emotet taken over and destroyed.
  • Washington, DC / United States : US President Joe Biden orders the stop of new oil and gas wells on state-owned land. Existing contracts and drilling on private land are not affected by this decree. He also announces that 30 percent of the state-owned land will be placed under nature protection by 2030.
  • Warsaw / Poland : After the Polish government has made its justification for tightening abortion law public, demonstrations take place in many cities in the following days to protest against the reformed abortion law.
