National Defense Authorization Act

The National Defense Authorization Act ( NDAA ; German approval law for national defense ) is a US federal law that determines the budget of the US Department of Defense (DoD). With this standard, the budget resolution takes on the character of a law every year and is the prerequisite for the budget of the US armed forces . While the first laws were very brief - the law passed in June 1961 "To authorize appropriations for aircraft, missiles, and naval vessels for the Armed Forces, and for other purposes."
