Rest day

Rest day is:

  • a day off in everyday life such as Sunday or Saturday (Saturday, originally Sabbath )
  • In business life, a weekday on which a certain business (especially restaurants) is closed, see rest day (business)
  • In Switzerland, a public holiday that is not “on an equal footing with Sundays” on the basis of the Federal Labor Act, but is exclusively non-working based on cantonal stipulations, see Holidays in Switzerland
  • in cycling, a day off during a stage race, see rest day (cycling)
