Gian Carlo Venturini
Gian Carlo Venturini (born February 25, 1962 in San Marino ) is a San Marino politician . In 1996/97 he was Capitano Reggente (Head of State) of San Marino and several times Minister in the San Marino Cabinet.
Life
Venturini graduated from Urbino University in 1984 as a laboratory technician . After that he was employed by the social security system (Istituto per la Sicurezza Sociale) .
He joined the PDCS in 1986 . From 1997 to 2002 and again from 2007 to 2008 he was the party's deputy secretary. From 1989 to 1991 he was mayor (capitano del castello) of Borgo Maggiore . In the parliamentary elections in 1993 he was first elected to the Consiglio Grande e Generale . He was re-elected in the following elections in 1998, 2001, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2016.
From October 1, 1996 to April 1, 1997 Venturini was together with Maurizio Rattini Capitano Reggente (head of state) of San Marino.
In May 2002 he became Minister of Health (Segretario di Stato per la Sanità e la Sicurezza Sociale) until the cabinet reshuffle in June. In December 2002 he returned to the government as Minister of Labor (Segretario di Stato per il Lavoro e la Cooperazione) . From 2003 to 2006 he was Minister for Territory, Environment and Agriculture (Segretario di Stato per il Territorio e l'Ambiente, l'Agricoltura ed i Rapporti con l'AASP) . After the 2006 elections, an alliance of Social Democrats (PSD), Alleanze Popolare (AP) and United Left (SU) formed the government. The early parliamentary elections in 2008 were won by Patto per San Marino , which also included the PDCS. In the new government, Venturini took over the post of Minister for Territory, Environment and Agriculture. After Augusto Casali resigned , he also took over provisional management of the justice department in July 2012. In the government of the party alliance San Marino Bene Comune, which was in office from 2012 to 2016, consisting of Social Democrats ( PSD ), Alleanza Popolare (AP) and Christian Democrats (PDCS-NS), Venturini was Minister of Interior and Justice (Segretario di Stato Interni, Funzione Pubblica, Giustizia, Rapporti con le Giunte di castello) .
He became a member of the Health Committee and Chairman of the Justice Committee in 2017. In April 2017, he resigned from the Justice Committee. in March 2017 he was elected political secretary (segretario politico) of the PDCS.

- Venturini was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic on June 13, 2014 .
