Sante Canducci

Sante Canducci (born June 17, 1944 ) is a San Marinese politician . From 1993 to 2002 he was a member of the San Marinese government.

Life

Canducci studied medicine at the University of Bologna and specialized in surgery, gynecology and obstetrics. He headed the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department at the San Marino State Hospital.

Canducci was a member of the Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese . He represented the party until 2006 in the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the Parliament of San Marino. In the parliamentary elections in 2006, he failed to make it into parliament. He reached number 28 on the list of the PDCS, which won 23 mandates. In December 2006 he resigned all party offices and in 2007 he and other former PDCS politicians founded the Movimento dei Democratici di Centro , which ran in the 2008 parliamentary elections together with the PSD and the Sinistra Unita as the Riforme e Libertà coalition .

From 1993 to 1998 Canducci was Minister of Health (Segretario di Stato per la Sanità e la Sicurezza Sociale) , after the 1998 elections he became Minister for Education, Culture and Justice (Segretario di Stato per la Pubblica Istruzione, gli Istituti Culturali e la Giustizia) . After the cabinet reshuffle in 2000, he was Minister for Industry, Crafts and Economic Cooperation (Segretario di Stato per l'Industria, l'Artigianato, la Cooperazione Economica) . After the 2001 elections, he was again Minister of Health until the cabinet reshuffle in June 2002.

Canducci was appointed San Marino Ambassador to the Holy See in 2008 to succeed Giovanni Galassi . Clelio Galassi followed him in April 2014 . Canducci is married and has two children.
