Johann Paul Harl

Johann Paul Harl (born July 9, 1772 in Hof near Salzburg ; † November 21, 1842 in Nuremberg ) was a German-Austrian theologian, philosopher , lawyer and camerawoman .

Life

Johann Paul Harl first studied theology and taught pedagogy in Salzburg, but then went to Berlin to study philosophy and camera studies. In 1805 he was appointed professor for philosophy and camera science in Erlangen . He dealt u. a. with mental Economic Development and was in 1803 for the discussion of the spirit of the activity and the revival acquisition diligence of the economic society in St. Petersburg excellent.

As a favorite of the Bavarian Minister Maximilian von Montgelas , he became a Bavarian councilor and received the Knight's Cross of the French Legion of Honor. Harl's Cameral Correspondent magazine with the Cameral Publishers was distributed to the authorities through Montgelas' intercession from 1805 to 1812. After Montgelas retired, Harl moved to Nuremberg, where he devoted himself to private publications. These were initially well received by Harl's contemporaries, later very negatively.

At the Wartburg Festival in 1817, several works by Harl were symbolically burned .

In 1842 he committed suicide in Nuremberg.
