Fabio Berardi (born May 26, 1959 in Borgo Maggiore ) is a San Marinese politician . He was minister several times and twice one of the two Capitani Reggenti (heads of state) of San Marino .

Life

Berardi has a degree in geology and was President of the Geological Chamber (Ordine dei Geologi Sammarinesi) for six years . From 1998 to 2001 and again from 2007 to 2008 he was director of the Azienda Autonoma di Stato di Produzione. Since February 2013 he has been in charge of the San Marino disaster control.

Berardi was a member of the Partito Socialista Sammarinese for which he first entered parliament in 1998, the Consiglio Grande e Generale . In 2001 he was re-elected. In the 2006 elections, he won a seat on the list of the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici , the successor party to the PSS. Together with MP Nadia Ottavini , he resigned from the PSD in July 2008, causing the government to lose its majority in parliament. The two founded a new party, the Arengo e Libertà , which ran in the early parliamentary elections in November 2008 with the Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese and the Europopolari per San Marino on a joint list. Berardi defended his seat in parliament. Before the 2012 election he resigned from the Arengo e Libertà and was elected to the Consiglio Grande as an independent on the PDCS list.

Berardi was in the term of office from April to October 2001 together with Luigi Lonfernini Capitano Reggente (head of state) of San Marino. From 2001 to 2003 he was Minister for Territory, Environment and Agriculture (Segretario di Stato per il Territorio, l'Ambiente e l'Agricoltura) , then until 2005 Minister of Foreign Affairs and Justice (Segretario di Stato per gli Affari Esteri e Politici, la Programmazione Economica e la Giustizia) . After the 2006 elections, he became Minister of Health (Segretario di Stato alla Sanità e Sicurezza Sociale, Previdenza e Pari Opportunità) . During the government reshuffle in 2007, he resigned from the cabinet. In the legislative period from 2008 to 2012 he was again a member of the government as Minister for Tourism and Sport (Segretario di Stato al Turismo, allo Sport, Programmazione economica e rapporti con l'AASS) . After the elections at the end of 2012, he left the cabinet. He is an independent member of the PDCS-Noi Sammarinese group and is a member of the Budget Committee. In the parliamentary elections at the end of 2012, Berardei no longer ran, but was a Capitano Reggente of the Consigli Grande e Generale until the end of his term on April 1, 2017.

Berardi is married and has two children.
