Vanessa D'Ambrosio
Vanessa D'Ambrosio (born April 26, 1988 in Borgo Maggiore ) is a San Marinese politician . She was one of the two Capitani Reggenti (heads of state) of San Marino from April 1 to October 1, 2017 .
Life and politics
D'Ambrosio studied Arabic and economics at the University of Bologna . Her thesis was on labor economics and gender issues in Saudi Arabia after the Gulf crisis.

D'Ambrosio belongs to the Sinistra Unita (SU). She was a member of the Municipal Council (Giunta di Castello) of Serravalle from 2014 to 2016 . Since 2015 she is the coordinator (coordinatore) of Sinistra Unita. In the 2016 parliamentary elections, the SU joined forces with other groups to form the Sinistra Socialista Democratica (SSD). D'Ambrosio was elected to the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the San Marinese parliament , on the list of SSD . She is a member of the Interior Committee and head of the San Marinese delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe . On March 16, 2017, she and Mimma Zavoli were elected Capitano Reggente (Head of State) of San Marino for the period from April 1 to October 1, 2017. This was the first time that there were two female Capitani Reggenti.
