Matteo Fiorini

Matteo Fiorini (born February 10, 1978 in San Marino ) is a politician from San Marino . He was twice Capitano Reggente (head of state) of San Marino.

Life

Fiorini holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Bologna and then worked as a project manager at SIT. In the 2008 elections he reached tenth place on the list of Alleanza Popolare (AP) , who won seven seats, but moved up in 2009 for the outgoing Tito Masi in the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the Parliament of San Marino. He was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Together with Gabriele Gatti , he was elected Capitano Reggente, the head of state of San Marino, for the period from October 1, 2011 to April 1, 2012.

In the parliamentary elections in November 2012, he reached third place on the list of the AP, which won four parliamentary seats. Fiorini became Minister in December 2012, responsible for Territory, Environment, Telecommunications, Youth and Sport. On March 4, 2014, he announced his resignation for personal reasons, and was succeeded by Antonella Mularoni . Fiorini retained his parliamentary mandate and replaced Mularoni on the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Before the new elections in November 2016, the AP merged with the Unione per la Repubblica (UpR) to form Repubblica Futura (RF), Fiorini came second on the RF list and entered parliament again. He is a member of the Consiglio dei XII and the Foreign Affairs Committee and belongs to the San Marinese group of deputies to the Interparliamentary Union .

From October 1, 2017 to March 31, he was Capitano Reggente for the second time together with Enrico Carattoni .
