Tito Masi

Tito Masi (born January 20, 1949 in San Marino ) is a San Marino politician .

Life

Tito Maso holds a diploma in political science from the University of Bologna . He then worked as an entrepreneur. From 1978 to 2002 he held Renault's concession for San Marino and the Montefeltro. From 1987 to 1990 Masi was President of the Cassa di Risparmio della Repubblica di San Marino , from 2006 to 2008 Governor of the Banca Mondiale per San Marino and from September 2009 to May 2013 President of the Fondazione San Marino Cassa di Risparmio - SUMS .

He began his political career in the Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese , of which he was a member from 1969 to 1993. In 1993 he was one of the founders of Alleanza Popolare .

Tito Masi was elected for the legislative period from 1974 to 1978 for the PDCS in the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the Parliament of San Marino. From October 1, 1977 to April 1, 1978 he was together with Giordano Bruno Reffi Capitano Reggente (Head of State) of San Marino. In the cabinet ruling from March 1976 to July 1978 he was Minister of Industry (Deputato per l'Industria, l'Artigianato e il Commercio) during his tenure as Capitano Reggente, the ministry was provisionally headed by Clelio Galassi .

For the AP he was elected to parliament in 1998, 2001, 2006 and 2008. Masi was a member of the Judiciary Committee from 1998 to 2006. From 2001 to 2003 he was a member of the San Marino Representation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and from 2004 to 2006 he was San Marino's delegate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and 2005 Vice-President. From June to December 2002, the AP participated in the government and Masi was Minister of Justice (Segretario di Stato per la Giustizia, i Rapporti con le Giunte di Castello e l'Informazione) . From 2003 to 2006 Masi was chairman of the AP group in the Consiglio Grande. After the parliamentary elections in 2006, the AP formed the government together with the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici and the Sinistra Unita . Masi received the Ministry of Industry, Crafts and Trade (Segretario di Stato per l'Industria, l'Artigianato, il Commercio, la Ricerca ei Rapporti con l'AASP) .

After the parliamentary elections in 2008, the AP went into opposition. Masi represented the AP on the Foreign and Justice Committee. In September 2009 he gave up his mandate when he was elected President of the FSM. In the 2012 elections, Masi ran again on the AP list, but failed to make it into parliament.

Masi is married and has two children.

Awards

Masi was appointed Grande Ufficiale des Ordine della Stella d'Italia by the Italian President on December 27, 2007.
