Marco Arzilli

Marco Arzilli (born February 23, 1971 in San Marino ) is a politician from San Marino . From 2008 to 2016 he was Minister for Industry, Crafts and Trade (Segretario di Stato per l'Industria, l'Artigianato ed il Commercio) of San Marino.

Life

Arzilli is a Certified Diamond Grader of the Diamond High Council . Until 2008 he was managing director of the family business, G. Arzilli s. a. From 2002 to 2008 he was President of the Unione Sammarinese Commercianti

Initially active in politics in the Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese , Arzilli was one of the founders of Noi Sammarinesi in 2006 , for whom he won the only seat in the Consiglio Grande e Generale in the 2006 parliamentary elections . In the 2008 elections he was re-elected to the Consiglio Grande e Generale on the Lista delle Libertà - the union of Noi Sammarinese and Nuovo Partito Socialista . In the 2012 elections, Arzilli entered parliament again on the joint list of PDCS and Noi Sammarinese. In the 2016 election, Arzilli ran on the list of Sammarinesi - a merger of Noi Sammarinesi and Sammarinesi Senza Confine - who failed because of the 3.5% threshold.

In 2006, Noi Sammarinese was in the opposition, Arzilli was a member of the Foreign Affairs, Financial Justice and Social and Environmental Committees and was a member of the San Marinese group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union . In the 2008 election, Noi Sammarinese was part of the Patto per San Marino alliance , which provided the government. Arzilli became Minister for Industry, Crafts and Trade (Segretario di Stato all'Industria, Artigianato, Commercio) . In the 2012 elections, the PDCS – Noi Sammarinese alliance stood as part of the victorious San Marino Bene Comune coalition . Arzilli was again Minister for Industry, Crafts, Trade, Transport, Research and Technology (Segretario di Stato Industria, Artigianato, Commercio. Trasporti e Ricerca tecnologica). On December 11, 2015, a vote of no confidence requested by 13 opposition MPs was rejected by the Consiglio Grande e Generale with 32 to 18 votes.

Arzilli is married and has two children. He is the son of Giuseppe Arzilli , three times Capitano Reggente .

Honors

Marco Arzilli was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2014.
