Mauro Chiaruzzi

Mauro Chiaruzzi (born October 13, 1952 in Chiesanuova ) is a San Marinese politician , he was Capitano Reggente (Head of State) of San Marino in 2002/03 and Minister of Health from 2007 to 2008 and Minister of the Interior from July to December 2008.

Life

Chiaruzzi belonged to the Partito Socialista Sammarinese (PSS) and was its secretary from 2003 until its merger with the Partito dei Democratici to the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici in 2005. From 2005 to 2007 he was political secretary of the PSD.

Chiaruzzi was Mayor (Capitano del Castello) of Fiorentino in 1982 . In 1998 he became coordinator in the Ministry of Health. Chiaruzzi moved in 2001 for the first time on the list of the PSS in the San Marinese parliament, the Consiglio Grande e Generale . In the parliamentary elections in 2006 and 2008 he was elected to parliament for the PSD. For the elections in November 2012, Chiaruzzi no longer ran.

For the period from October 1, 2002 to April 1, 2003, Chiaruzzi was elected together with Giuseppe Maria Morganti as Capitano Reggente, the head of state of San Marino. Chiaruzzi was chairman of the finance committee. From 2006 to 2008 he was the representative of San Marino in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe . During the cabinet reshuffle in October 2007, he became Minister of Health (Segretario di Stato alla Sanità e Sicurezza Sociale, Previdenza e Pari Opportunità) . During the cabinet reshuffle in July 2008, he also took over the Ministry of the Interior. After the elections in November 2008, the PSD left the government. Chiaruzzi was a member of the Health Committee from 2008 to 2012 and represented San Marino at the Inter-Parliamentary Union .

Awards

Chiaruzzi was awarded the Star of Romania in 2002.
