Marcel Schouten (born June 27, 1992 in Eindhoven ) is a Dutch freestyle swimmer who specializes in open water courses . He was European champion in 2014 and third in the world championship in 2015 with the Dutch 5 km team.

At the 2014 European Swimming Championships , he won the regatta course Berlin-Grünau together with Ferry Weertman, who was equally old to the day, and Sharon van Rouwendaal in 55: 47.8 minutes ahead of Greece ( Spyridon Gianniotis , Antonios Fokaidis , Kalliopi Araouzou ; 56: 05.5 ) and Germany ( Rob Muffels , Thomas Lurz , Isabelle Härle ; 56: 14.8).

The 2015 World Swimming Championships on the Kazanka River in Kazan , Russia saw the Dutch in the same line-up on the bronze medal rank in 55: 31.2 minutes behind the German team (55: 14.4), in which Christian Reichert had replaced the now retired record world champion Lurz, and the simultaneous Brazilians in the line-up Allan do Carmo , Diogo Villarinho and Ana Marcela Cunha (55: 31.2).
