Gian Franco Terenzi

Gian Franco Terenzi (born January 2, 1941 - † May 20, 2020 in Serravalle , San Marino ) was a San Marinese politician of the Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese . Between 1987 and 2015 he held the office of Capitano Reggente four times , most recently together with Guerrino Zanotti he was the head of state of San Marino from October 2014 to April 2015 .

Life

Terenzi earned a degree in industrial engineering and then did a PhD in sociology . He has been an entrepreneur since 1961. From 1976 he was for 33 years chairman of the San Marino Chamber of Crafts UNAS and was a member of the board of the San Marino National Olympic Committee CONS. Gian Franco Terenzi was married and had two children.

politics

Terenzi was a member of the Christian Democratic party PDCS and since 1978 a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale in the Parliament of San Marino. In 2012 he missed direct entry into parliament, but succeeded in replacing PDCS government members who were resigning their mandate. In the legislative periods from 2008 and 2012 he was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the San-Marinese group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union . in the legislative period from 2012 he was again a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Interparliamentary Union. Terenzi served four times as Capitano Reggente , head of state of San Marino. After he held this office from October 1987 to April 1988, October 2000 to April 2001 and April to October 2006, he became head of state ( Capitano Reggente ) on September 15, 2014 together with Guerrino Zanotti of the Consiglio Grande e Generale for the period from Elected October 1, 2014 to April 1, 2015.
