Guerrino Zanotti

Guerrino Zanotti (born October 24, 1962 in San Marino ) is a politician from San Marino . Together with Gian Franco Terenzi , he was Capitano Reggente (Head of State) of San Marino from October 2014 to April 2015 and has been Minister of the Interior since December 2016.

Zanotti worked for a private company from 1982 to 1985. He has been working for the social security system ( Istituto per la Sicurezza Sociale ) since 1985 and has been responsible for the Ufficio Prestazioni Economiche since 2008 .

Zanotti was a member of the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici since it was founded in 2005. From 2009 to 2013 he was a member of the party's political secretariat. In the 2006 parliamentary elections, he reached number 23 on the list of the PSD, which won twenty seats, but became a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale as one of the successors for the PSD ministers who are leaving parliament.

In the early parliamentary elections in 2008, he failed to make it into parliament with 19th place - the PDS only won 18 seats. In the 2012 elections, the PSD ran as part of the San Marino Bene Commune alliance . Zanotti achieved the third largest number of votes in the PSD, which has 10 MPs. He became a member of the health committee and chair of the anti-mafia committee.

Before the parliamentary elections in 2016, he joined the newly founded Sinistra Socialista Democratica (SSD), which ran together with Repubblica Futura (RF) and Civico 10 as the adesso.sm coalition and won an absolute majority in the runoff election on December 4, 2016. Zanotti was re-elected to the Consiglio Grande e Generale on the list of SSD.

On September 15, 2014, he and Gian Franco Terenzi were elected Head of State (Capitano Reggente) from the Consiglio Grande e Generale for the period from October 1, 2014 to April 1, 2015.

Zanotti was elected Interior Minister (Segretario di Stato agli Affari Interni, Funzione Pubblica, Rapporti con le Giunte, Semplificazione Normativa, Affari Istituzionali e Delega alla Pace) of the government provided by adesso.sm on December 27, 2016 .

Zanotti has been married to Elena Beatrice Giordani since 1990 and they have two sons.
