Valeria Ciavatta

Valeria Ciavatta (born January 16, 1959 in Borgo Maggiore ) is a politician from San Marino . She was one of the two Capitani Reggenti (heads of state) of San Marino between April 2014 and October 2014 . She belongs to the Alleanza Popolare dei Democratici Sammarinesi per la Repubblica . Life

After attending a humanistic high school, Ciavatta completed a law degree at the University of Urbino , which she completed with a thesis on family law. She worked in the land registry (ufficio del registro e conservatoria), of which she is the deputy director.

From 1978 to 1990 she was a member of the PDCS . In 1993 she was one of the founding members of the Alleanza Popolare . From 2001 to 2003 and from 2012 to 2013 she was the group leader of the AP in the Consiglio Grande e Generale and became party president in 2005.

She has been a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale since 1993. Together with Giovanni Lonfernini , she was Capitano Reggente from October 1, 2003 to April 1, 2004. From August 2006 to November 2012 - with a short break from July to December 2008 - she was Minister of the Interior. In the legislative period from 2012 onwards, she is the chairman of the judicial committee and a member of the finance committee. On March 12, 2014, she and Luca Beccari were elected Capitano Reggente for the term of office from April 1, 2014 to October 1, 2014.
