Gian Carlo Capicchioni

Gian Carlo Capicchioni (born February 19, 1956 in Borgo Maggiore ) is a politician from San Marino . He was elected Capitano Reggente (head of state) of San Marino for the term of office from October 1, 2013 to April 1, 2014 together with Anna Maria Muccioli .

Capicchioni has a diploma as an accountant and is employed by the tax authorities. He joined the PSD in 2005 . From 2003 to 2006 he was Capitano (Mayor) of Serravalle . In 2006 he was elected to the San Marinese parliament, the Consiglio Grande e Generale . He was re-elected in the 2008 and 2012 parliamentary elections. He has been a member of the Permanent Committee on Finance since 2006 and was a member of the Council of the Twelve (Consiglio dei XII) from 2006 to 2012 . From its founding in 2011 to November 2012 he was a member of the anti-mafia committee of inquiry (Commissione antimafia della Repubblica di San Marino) . In 2012 he became a member of the Interior Committee and Finance Committee.

Capicchoni was sworn in as Minister of Finance on October 22, 2014, he is the successor to Claudio Felici, who resigned on October 15, 2014 . In the 2016 election he was re-elected to the PSD's list of parliament. He was chairman of the PSD parliamentary group until July 2017 and is a member of the home and justice committee.

Capicchioni is married and has one son.
