Simone Celli

Simone Celli (born September 10, 1982 in Borgo Maggiore ) is a politician from San Marino . Since December 2016 he has been Minister of Finance of San Marino.

Celli studied law at the University of Urbino and works as an employee.

Simone Celli has been a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the San Marinese parliament, since 2006 . In the parliamentary elections in 2006 and 2008 he ran for the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici (PSD). In the legislative period from 2008 to 2012 he was a member of the Interior and Justice Committee.

In July 2009 he was one of the founders of the Partito Socialista Riformista Sammarinese with seven other members of the PSD . Celli was elected secretary of the PSRS in October 2009. In May 2012, the PSRS merged with the Nuovo Partito Socialista to form the Partito Socialista . In the parliamentary elections in 2012, Celli appeared on the list of the Partito Socialista and won the most votes. In the following legislative period he was a member of the Judiciary Committee and was a member of the San Marinese delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union .

In April 2013 Celli was elected secretary of the PS, in November 2014 he resigned, but was re-elected party secretary in March 2015, but resigned again in November. Two months later he also resigned from the PS. He joined the Laboratorio Democratico (LabDem) association, which formed a parliamentary group with Sinistra Unita (SU).

Before the parliamentary elections in 2016, SU-LabDem joined forces with other left-wing forces to form the Sinistra Socialista Democratica (SSD). SSD formed the adesso.sm coalition with Repubblica Futura (RF) and Civico 10 (C10), which won the parliamentary elections in December 2016. Celli was again elected to the Consiglio Grande e Generale on the list of SSD.

On December 27, 2017, Celli was elected Minister of Finance (Segretario di Stato alle Finanze, Bilancio, Poste, Trasporti, Programmazione Economica) .
